Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-10
These Terms govern your use of “Latin dictionary access” (at
https://latin.valksor.com — the web page, the JSON API, and the MCP
endpoint, together the “Service”), a free, public, read-only service
operated by
Valksor
(valksor.com). By using the Service you agree to these Terms; if you do not agree,
do not use it.
1. What the Service is
The Service looks up Latin words and inflection tables in the English Wiktionary at en.wiktionary.org and lemmatizes inflected forms via the Perseids Morpheus analyzer, returning attested data so language tools and LLMs are grounded in real entries rather than invented ones. It is a thin access layer; the dictionary content is not ours.
2. Data and licensing (important)
The dictionary data originates from the English Wiktionary (Wikimedia Foundation) and is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. If you reuse or publish results from this Service you must attribute Wiktionary per its copyright policy and license adaptations under the same terms. Morphological analyses come from the Morpheus analyzer via the Perseids Project's public service. Using this Service grants you no rights beyond those underlying licences.
3. Acceptable use
Use the Service lawfully and considerately. You must not:
- use it as a bulk-scraping proxy to mass-extract Wiktionary or the Perseids service;
- circumvent or hammer the per-IP rate limits, or otherwise overload or disrupt the Service;
- attempt unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- use it for any unlawful purpose.
We rate-limit per IP and may block or restrict abusive traffic.
4. Availability & accuracy
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty and no uptime or support guarantee. The accuracy and completeness of the linguistic data are the upstream source's; we do not guarantee them. We may change, limit, or discontinue the Service at any time.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Valksor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the Service or its data.
6. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Latvia and the European Union.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
